ALTERNATIVES

The Cofounder.co alternative for founders who only need users

Cofounder wants to be every department. AutoTraction wants to be one of them, the one that finds you customers.

Cofounder, at cofounder.co, and AutoTraction both sell a founder something that used to mean hiring. They disagree about how much of the company is in scope. Cofounder says all of it. We say the marketing, done properly, and the rest is yours. Everything about Cofounder below comes from its own site on the day we checked.

What Cofounder is

The headline: "Cofounder lets you run an entire company with AI". Under it: "Start with an AI roadmap, then hand off engineering, sales, marketing, design, finance, and ops to agents." Its own description calls it an AI company operating system that coordinates those departments. A counter on the home page read "over 10,650 companies are running on Cofounder" when we looked. It is made by The General Intelligence Company Of New York.

The design is a company org chart: agentic departments, managers and shared context, split into three stages. Launch covers positioning, brand identity, a marketing website and launch content, with tasks that include buying a domain, setting up a social presence, incorporating an LLC and opening a bank account. Grow covers customer research, prospect discovery, email outreach, and marketing and newsletters. Operate covers analytics, customer support and recurring workflows. It also manages your GitHub, Supabase and Vercel projects, and lets you claim ownership later.

On control it is explicit, and closer to us than to most of this category: nothing ships without your approval, and agents ask before anything dangerous.

Where it stops

Not at breadth. At depth inside one column of that org chart. The pricing page lists social post publishing as a Pro feature but does not say which networks. We found no mention of video with voiceover, carousels, journalist pitching, ad buying or drafted replies in other people's threads. Outbound is email, and prospect discovery feeds it.

Fair enough. A product covering engineering, finance, support and formation has less room for the craft of getting seen.

What AutoTraction does instead

One job, six agents, one briefing. It reads your website, works out who your product is for and how you sound, and drafts your positioning. Then it generates videos with voiceover, six slide carousels and founder posts, and publishes them daily to TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook through official APIs, on accounts you already own. It sources leads every week and writes to them by email and on LinkedIn from your own accounts, following up until they reply. It drafts your replies to Reddit, X and LinkedIn threads where people are already asking for what you built, and you paste them, so your accounts never look automated. It reads the morning's news, pitches only the journalists who covered your subject, and sends the release. It runs Meta and TikTok ads under a cap you set, keeps the winner and kills the rest. It pitches investors when you raise. About four minutes a day from you.

When Cofounder is the better choice

Three cases, and all three are real.

You have not incorporated or shipped yet. Cofounder will name the company, buy the domain, file the LLC, open the bank account and stand up the repo, the database and the hosting. We start by reading a website, so you need one to exist first. Nothing in our product will ever file a form for you.

The gap is the company, not the marketing. If you would rather have one system attempting engineering, design, finance, support and go to market than four tools each doing a slice, that is what Cofounder is for and it says so plainly.

You want a team seat and a compliance story. Cofounder advertises SOC 2 compliant security and has a Team plan at $100 a seat on a waitlist. If shared access matters to you, that is a direction we are not pointed in.

Note the word "starting" on Pro. Its own FAQ says Cofounder Pro is $120 per month, and that usage such as data purchasing and ad spend is handled by a pricing estimator. Worth reading first.

Our plans are on the pricing page and the site grader is free. If you have shipped and nobody came, how to get your first 100 users is the practical version of this argument. For another rival that claims every role in the company, see Polsia.

Does AutoTraction run my whole company like Cofounder does?

No. It does marketing: content, daily posting, weekly leads, email and LinkedIn outreach, drafted replies, press pitches, ads and investor outreach. It will not write your code, file your LLC, answer your support tickets or manage your hosting. Cofounder is aiming at all of that and we are not.

What does Cofounder cost?

Cofounder Pro is listed as starting at $120 a month, with a 7 day free trial before it. A Team plan at $100 a seat is marked coming soon with a waitlist. LLC incorporation is an add-on, and usage such as data purchasing and ad spend sits outside the subscription.

Can I run both?

You could. The overlap is prospect discovery, email outreach and social publishing, so pick one system for each of those or you will write to the same person twice. Everything Cofounder does around the product, and everything we do around video, replies, press and ads, does not collide.
