ALTERNATIVES

The GummySearch alternative for founders who need the work done

GummySearch told you where your customers were talking. It never wrote anything, and it is no longer taking customers at all.

If you are reading this you probably searched for a GummySearch alternative and found out why so many people are searching for one. The tool is closed. This page says what it did, what it did not do, and what AutoTraction does instead. Everything about GummySearch below comes from its own site.

What GummySearch was

GummySearch described itself as "The Research Tool for Reddit". One channel: Reddit. You gave it keywords and subreddits, and it surfaced the conversations, the pain points and the patterns underneath them. Founders used it for customer research and for finding threads worth joining.

Its published plans were a free tier at $0 limited to 50 keyword searches, Starter at $29 a month, Pro at $59 a month and Mega at $199 a month, with annual billing advertised at 33% off. Starter added unlimited keyword searches and keyword tracking, Pro added deeper search, content performance reports and Slack or Discord alerts, Mega added enterprise usage limits and shareable reports.

It is closed

The site now carries a notice: "GummySearch is closed as of 11/30/2025". Its help page says no new signups, purchases or renewals are accepted from 1 December 2025, that paid subscribers keep access to the end of their billing period, which for annual plans can run into late 2026, and that all user data will be permanently deleted on 1 December 2026. The stated reason is the inability to reach a commercial license agreement with Reddit's Data API.

So this is not a close comparison of two live products. If you are here, you need somewhere else to go.

Where research stops

Put the closure aside for a second, because the more useful point is about the category. A research tool ends its job at the moment yours begins. It hands you a list of threads. You still have to read them, decide which deserve an answer, write the answer in a voice that does not sound like a pitch, post it, and then go and do the rest of your marketing: the posts, the video, the emails, the press, the ads.

Founders who bought a Reddit research tool and then stopped using it after a month mostly stopped for that reason. The list was correct. The list was also work.

What AutoTraction does instead

AutoTraction is an AI marketing co-founder rather than a research tool. You enter your website. It reads your product, works out who it is for and how you sound, and then runs the marketing: it generates video with voiceover, six-slide carousels and founder posts, publishes them daily to TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook through official APIs, sources leads and writes to them by email and on LinkedIn from your own accounts, writes press releases and pitches journalists, runs ads on Meta and TikTok inside a cap you set, and watches which posts actually bring signups so it can make more of those.

The thread part is still there, and it works the way GummySearch users wanted their research to work. AutoTraction finds the relevant threads on Reddit, X and LinkedIn and drafts the reply. You read it, change what you want, and paste it from your own account. It never posts a reply for you. That is deliberate, and it is why your accounts never look automated.

When GummySearch is the better choice

It is not, because you cannot buy it. That is the honest answer and there is no way to dress it up.

The version of the question that still matters is whether a pure Reddit research tool beats a marketing platform for you. It does, in one case: you are doing customer discovery rather than marketing. You have no product yet, you want to read a hundred threads about a problem and take notes, and you do not want anything posted anywhere. A dedicated listening tool will go deeper on one channel than we will, and several are still selling. Buy one of those and come back when you have something to launch.

Who should switch

Everyone who was using GummySearch to get users rather than to write a research document. If the threads it found were a means to an end, the end was: reply in the right places, post consistently, email the people who reach your buyers, and get some press. That is the whole of AutoTraction, and replies are one of six things it does.

Is GummySearch really gone?

Its site says it is closed as of 30 November 2025, that no new signups, purchases or renewals are accepted from 1 December 2025, and that all user data will be permanently deleted on 1 December 2026.

Does AutoTraction do Reddit research?

It finds the threads on Reddit, X and LinkedIn where people are asking for what you built, and drafts a reply for each one. It is aimed at getting you into the right conversations rather than at producing a research report.

Will replying through AutoTraction get my Reddit account banned?

AutoTraction never posts a reply for you. It writes the draft and you paste it from your own account, at your own pace, so nothing sprays comments at scale.
