AutoTraction vs Buffer
Buffer is the queue. AutoTraction is what fills it, plus the outreach, press and ads.
The verdict first. Buffer is for someone who already writes their own social content and wants it scheduled, measured and replied to from one place, across a very wide list of networks. AutoTraction is for a founder who does not write social content and is not going to start, and who needs leads contacted and press pitched as well. If your queue is full, Buffer is cheaper and better at scheduling. If your queue is empty, no scheduler solves that. Everything about Buffer here comes from its own site.
How they differ in one paragraph
Buffer calls itself "your social media workspace". It supports Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Bluesky and Mastodon. You schedule posts, read analytics and reply to comments on your own posts from one dashboard, with an AI Assistant that brainstorms and rewrites text. AutoTraction starts a step earlier: you enter your website, it works out your product, audience and voice, then generates video with voiceover, six-slide carousels and founder posts and publishes them daily to TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook through official APIs. It then keeps going into lead sourcing, cold email, LinkedIn outreach, drafted thread replies, press pitches and Meta and TikTok ads.

Choose Buffer if
- You write your own posts and enjoy it. Paying for generated content you do not need makes no sense.
- You need channels we do not cover: YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon or Google Business Profile.
- You are a team with an approval process. Team at $10 a month per channel gives unlimited members and custom access levels.
- You want the cheapest possible option for one or two channels. The free plan is a real one and costs nothing.
- You mostly want analytics and comment management for accounts that are already active.
Choose AutoTraction if
- Your scheduler keeps running dry. The bottleneck is making the content, not publishing it.
- You want video and carousels, not just text. Video with voiceover, filmed, edited and captioned, and six-slide carousels built around a hook, four tips and one ask.
- You want the non-social half too: leads sourced weekly, emails and LinkedIn messages sent from your own accounts, press releases and journalist pitches, Meta and TikTok ads.
- You want replies in other people's threads, drafted for you on Reddit, X and LinkedIn, and posted by you.
- You want one flat price for every channel rather than paying per channel.
The honest summary
Buffer is better software for the job it does. It has been doing it for over a decade and its free plan is more generous than most paid tools. The reason to look past it is not quality, it is scope: a scheduler assumes a content producer, and if you are a founder shipping a product, that producer does not exist.
The longer version, including where Buffer wins, is on the Buffer alternative page. Plan detail is on the pricing page, the site grader is free, and the four-minute marketing routine describes the loop we automate.
Does AutoTraction replace Buffer?
For TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook, yes: it makes the content and publishes it through official APIs. For YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and Google Business Profile, no.
Is there a free AutoTraction plan?
No. Setup is free, including your positioning, voice and first posts, and the site grader is free to use. Daily posting, outreach, replies and press need a paid plan.
Can I edit posts before they go out?
Yes. Approval is part of the loop, which is what keeps the founder's daily time at about four minutes.
