The Promote.chat alternative for founders who need more than organic
Both products are built for the founder who shipped with AI and cannot get anyone to look. They split on how many channels they cover and on who presses publish.
Promote.chat is the nearest thing to AutoTraction we have found. Same buyer, same complaint, different shape. It works through a chat box and covers organic plus search. We cover content, publishing, outbound, press and ads, and you approve each step. Everything about Promote.chat below comes from its own site.
What Promote.chat is
The page title calls it an "Autonomous AI Marketing Agent for Vibe-Coded Products". The headline is "AI marketing agent for vibe coders", and under it: "Built for developers and solo founders. Just write a prompt and let AI agent do full stack marketing for your product".
Four capabilities are described as running today. Social Mentions scans Reddit, X and LinkedIn for discussions relevant to your niche, then "Drafts and posts tailored comments on your behalf". The Content Engine writes long-form SEO articles, X threads, LinkedIn posts and Reddit discussion starters. SEO and GEO covers keyword analysis, Domain Rating expansion, and getting cited when somebody asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude for a tool in your category. Conversion CRO audits your landing page copy and friction points.
Where it stops, and one line to read carefully
The home page carries a section headed "Upcoming Agent Skills". It names three: short-form AI UGC video for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, cold email automation with lead targeting, and a paid ads engine for Google Ads. Those are presented as not shipped. The FAQ says the same thing: "Currently, we support organic engagement on Reddit, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn, alongside on-page SEO auditing and AI search engine visibility (GEO)."
The page's own meta description is wider. It says Promote.chat "runs Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Google Ads, SEO, UGC video and cold email campaigns". Search snippets and directory listings quote that sentence, so it is the version most people meet first. The body copy is the more careful source. Check which of the two lists you are actually buying.
On the careful version: today it is Reddit, X and LinkedIn, plus search. No TikTok, Instagram or Facebook, no video, no outbound email, no press, no ads.
What AutoTraction does instead
You enter your website. It reads your product, works out who it is for and how you sound, and drafts your positioning. Then it generates videos with voiceover, six-slide carousels and founder posts, and publishes them daily to TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook through official APIs, on accounts you already own.
It sources leads every week and writes to them by email and on LinkedIn from your own inbox, following up until they answer. It drafts your replies to Reddit, X and LinkedIn threads where people are already asking for what you built. It writes your press release and pitches the journalists who would care. It runs Meta and TikTok ads, keeps the winner, kills the rest, and stays under your cap. Your part is about four minutes a day.

When Promote.chat is the better choice
Four cases, and none of them are token.
You want SEO and AI search visibility. Promote.chat sells keyword analysis, long-form ranking content, Domain Rating work and Generative Engine Optimization as first-class features. AutoTraction claims none of that. If being cited when someone asks Claude for a tool like yours is the outcome you care about most, buy the product that sells it.
You want the agent to post the comments itself. The Individual plan lists "Draft & Semi-Autonomous Posting Modes", and the FAQ describes a draft mode where you approve everything, or a fully autonomous mode once you trust the output. AutoTraction will never do that. We draft replies and you paste them, which is slower by design. Plenty of founders would rather not be in that loop, and Promote.chat serves them.
You run several products or clients. The Agency plan is $499 a month for unlimited connected websites, team seats and fully autonomous multi-channel execution. Our plans are built around one founder and one product.
You want to spend nothing first. Its FAQ says you can get started completely for free.
Pricing, side by side
| Promote.chat | AutoTraction | |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Yes, stated in the FAQ | Free setup, positioning and site grader |
| Entry plan | Individual, $29.99 a month, 5,000 credits | Solo, $19 a month, 250 credits |
| Top plan | Agency, $499 a month, 100,000 credits | Scale, $249 a month, 4,000 credits |
| Extra credits | 10,000 for $15, 50,000 for $59, 200,000 for $199, never expire | 5¢ to 6¢ each by plan, unused ones roll over a month |
The credit pools are not comparable. Ours are on the pricing page: 10 credits is a week of posts, a verified lead is 2, an image 5, a video 10. The site grader is free, the head-to-head is AutoTraction vs Promote.chat, and HeyCatch is the other product calling itself an AI marketing co-founder. Before any agent posts on your behalf, read the self-promotion rules by subreddit.
Does Promote.chat really do cold email and ads?
Not yet, on its own account. Its meta description lists Google Ads, UGC video and cold email, but the home page files all three under "Upcoming Agent Skills" and the FAQ says the live channels are Reddit, X and LinkedIn plus on-page SEO and GEO.
Which one is cheaper?
AutoTraction at the entry tier, $19 a month against $29.99. Promote.chat has a free tier and much larger credit pools. They meter different things, so compare on what you need run rather than on the credit numbers.
Can I run both?
You could. Split them by job: Promote.chat for SEO and AI search, AutoTraction for content, publishing, outreach, press and ads. Do not point both at Reddit. Two agents in the same thread is how accounts get flagged.
