FOR INDIE HACKERS

Marketing automation for indie hackers

One tool that posts, replies, sources leads and pitches press, instead of six that each do a slice of it.

The indie hacker marketing stack usually looks like this: a scheduler, a carousel maker, a Reddit keyword alert, a lead database, a cold email sender, an analytics tool, and a spreadsheet holding them together. Each one is cheap. Together they cost more than your hosting and they still need you to be the glue every morning.

AutoTraction is the argument for one system instead. Not because bundles are automatically better, but because the glue work is the part that actually fails when you are busy.

The situation you are actually in

You probably run more than one thing. A main product, a side project that still gets signups, maybe something you shipped last month to see if it had legs. Every one of them needs distribution and none of them justifies a marketing hire.

You are also good at this in short bursts. You know the channels, you have posted on Reddit and X for years, you have read the launch playbooks. The gap is not knowledge. It is that consistent marketing is a daily job and building is also a daily job, and the daily job with a visible result wins.

The second gap is picking channels. Most indie hackers over-invest in one launch moment and under-invest in the boring weekly channels. If you have not decided where your product should actually live, read where to post your side project before you automate anything.

What AutoTraction does, channel by channel

Enter your website. It reads the product, the audience and your voice, drafts your positioning, shows domain options at real prices, and writes your first posts. All of that is free. Then it runs:

Content

Videos with voiceover, six-slide carousels built as hook, four tips and one ask, founder posts in your voice, longer Facebook posts, short posts for X. Generated from your product rather than a template pack. Detail on TikTok and Instagram carousels.

Posting

Daily publishing to TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook through official APIs, at human pace, on your own accounts. This replaces the scheduler and the calendar you keep forgetting to fill.

Replies

It finds the threads on Reddit, X and LinkedIn where people are already asking for what you built, and drafts your reply to paste. This replaces the keyword alert plus the fifteen minutes of reading you never do. Reddit is the channel where self-promotion rules bite hardest; the per-subreddit differences are in Reddit self-promotion rules by subreddit.

Outreach

Leads sourced for you every week, then written to by email and on LinkedIn from your own accounts, with follow-ups until they answer. This replaces the lead database subscription and the sending tool.

Press

It reads the morning's news, picks the journalists who would actually care, writes the release and sends the pitch.

Ads and the learning loop

Meta and TikTok ads in one place, creative written for you, winner kept, losers killed, your cap never passed. And across everything, it watches which posts bring signups rather than views and makes more of the ones that worked.

What it will not do

  • No auto-posted replies. Reddit and X replies are drafted and you paste them. An indie hacker account with history on Reddit is worth too much to risk on automation.
  • No fake engagement. No bought likes, no bot accounts, no comments sprayed at scale.
  • No guaranteed launch result. It does not get you to the top of any leaderboard, and anyone selling you that is selling votes.
  • No fix for an unclear landing page. Check yours with the free site grader first.

Your four minutes a day

A morning briefing, a few approvals, and the conversations worth answering yourself. The design goal is that a bad week costs you nothing, because four minutes fits in any day.

Old stackWho did the workWith AutoTraction
SchedulerYou wrote and queued every postWritten and published daily
Keyword alertsYou read the threads and wrote repliesThreads found, reply drafted, you paste
Lead database and senderYou built the list and the sequenceLeads sourced, written to, followed up
Press listUsually nothing happenedRelease written, journalists pitched
AnalyticsYou guessed what workedSignups tracked, winners repeated

The habit itself is written out in the four-minute marketing routine.

Which plan fits

Solo at $19 a month is the honest starting point for one product: 250 credits, email outreach from your own mailbox, one campaign at a time, everything else in the platform running. If you are working several products at once, campaign limits are what you will hit first. Pro at $99 runs three campaigns at a time with email and LinkedIn together and 1,500 credits. Scale at $249 runs unlimited campaigns with three LinkedIn senders and three mailboxes. Credits roll over for a month and extra ones cost 5 to 6 cents each, so a launch week does not force a plan change. Full detail on the pricing page.

If you are one person with one SaaS rather than a portfolio, marketing for solo SaaS founders is the closer fit. If your product came out of an AI build tool, read marketing for apps built with Lovable, Cursor and Bolt.

Can I run more than one product on it?

Campaigns are the limit that matters. Solo and Starter run one campaign at a time, Pro runs three, and Scale runs an unlimited number. If you are marketing several products in parallel, that line is the one to read on the pricing page.

Is this just another scheduler?

Publishing is one of the things it does. The rest is generating the content, finding the threads worth replying to, sourcing and writing to leads, pitching journalists, running ads and tracking which posts bring signups. A scheduler waits for you to fill it.

Will it get me banned from Reddit?

It never posts to Reddit for you. It finds the thread and drafts the reply, and you decide whether to paste it. Publishing to your own social accounts goes through official APIs at human pace.

Is there a free plan?

No free tier runs the platform. Setup is free: positioning, voice, domain options and your first posts cost nothing, and the site grader at /scan is free. Posting, outreach, replies and press need a paid plan, starting at $19 a month.
