Marketing for solo SaaS founders
The marketing co-founder you never hired, running the channels you keep meaning to start.
A one-person SaaS has a specific failure mode. The product gets better every week and the top of the funnel stays exactly the same size, because the person who would fix that is the same person shipping the features.
You already know what you should be doing. Post consistently. Answer the threads where people describe your problem. Write to the people who reach your buyers. Pitch a journalist now and then. None of it is a mystery. It just never survives contact with a Tuesday.
The situation you are actually in
You are the product team, the support inbox and the marketing department. Marketing is the one of those three with no deadline attached, so it is the one that slips. It slips for a month, then a quarter, and then you are looking at a churn number with no new signups behind it to cover for it.
The other trap is batching. You do a marketing sprint, post for nine days, get a small bump, then stop for six weeks. Every channel that matters rewards showing up daily. A founder alone rarely wins that fight with willpower.
So the useful question is not which tactic. It is which parts can run without you, and which parts have to be you. AutoTraction is built on that split.
What AutoTraction does, channel by channel
You enter your website. It reads your product, works out who it is for and how you sound, drafts your positioning and writes your first posts. That part costs nothing. Then:
Content
Videos with voiceover, filmed, edited and captioned. Six-slide carousels shaped as a hook, four tips and one ask. Founder posts in your voice. Longer-form Facebook posts and short posts for X. All of it built from your product and your audience rather than a template library. The formats are broken down on AI TikTok and Instagram carousels for founders.
Posting
Published daily to TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook, through official APIs, at human pace, on accounts you already own. This is the part that solves batching: the daily post happens whether or not you remembered.
Replies
It finds threads on Reddit, X and LinkedIn where people are asking for what you built, and drafts your reply for you to paste. For a solo SaaS this is usually the highest-yield channel early, because you are borrowing an audience that already exists. The reasoning is in why replies beat posts on X.
Outreach
It sources the people who reach your buyers, writes to them by email and on LinkedIn from your own accounts, and follows up until they answer. When someone replies it stops and hands the thread to you, which is correct: a reply from a real buyer is your job, not software's.
Press
It reads the morning's news, finds the journalists who would actually care, writes the release and sends the pitch. See Press releases and journalist pitches.
Ads, learning and investors
Ads run on Meta and TikTok in one place, with the creative written for you, the winner kept, the rest killed, and your cap never passed. Across all of it, AutoTraction watches which posts bring signups rather than views, makes more of those and drops the rest. If you ever raise, it finds the funds that back companies like yours and writes the first note.
What it will not do
- It does not post replies for you. Reddit and X replies are drafted and you paste them. That is a deliberate limit, not a missing feature.
- It does not fake engagement. No purchased likes, no sock puppets, no comment spraying.
- It does not answer your customers. When a lead writes back, the conversation is yours.
- It does not rescue weak positioning. If people cannot tell what your SaaS does in five seconds, more traffic just means more bounces. The free site grader is the cheapest way to check that first.
Your four minutes a day
A morning briefing, a couple of approvals, and the conversations worth answering yourself. That is the whole daily commitment.
| Runs without you | Needs you |
|---|---|
| Writing the week's content | Approving what goes out |
| Publishing to five channels | Nothing, once approved |
| Finding threads worth answering | Pasting the reply, in your words if you prefer |
| Sourcing leads and sending follow-ups | Replying when a buyer writes back |
| Reading the news and pitching press | Taking the interview |
The point of keeping it to four minutes is that four minutes survives a bad week. An hour does not. If you want the habit written out on its own, read the four-minute marketing routine.
Which plan fits
Most solo SaaS founders should start on Solo at $19 a month: 250 credits, email outreach from a mailbox you already own, one campaign at a time, and the whole rest of the platform running. Move up when something concrete blocks you. If you want LinkedIn as your outreach channel instead of email, that starts at Starter, $39 a month, which also sets the mailbox up for you. If you want both channels sending at once and three campaigns running, that is Pro at $99. The per-plan detail is on the pricing page, and the mailbox side is explained on cold email outreach with your own mailbox.

I have no marketing background. Does that matter?
No. You enter your website and AutoTraction drafts the positioning, works out your voice and writes the first posts. Your job is to approve or reject, which is a judgement you can make about your own product without any marketing training.
Will the posts sound like me or like a bot?
Content is written from your product and your audience in the voice it worked out from your site, and you approve everything before it publishes. If a draft does not sound like you, you reject it and nothing goes out.
Can I keep using my own mailbox?
Yes, and on the Solo plan that is how it works: you bring your own mailbox and run one campaign at a time. From Starter upward a mailbox is set up for you instead.
What if I do not want to be on TikTok?
Content is generated for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn, and it publishes to the accounts you connect. You approve what goes out before it publishes, so a draft you do not want posted does not get posted.
